Mailchimp

Trigger Mailchimp customer journey automations whenever Zippendo sends shipping events, order updates, or tracking changes to subscribers.

Overview

Send Zippendo shipping events to Mailchimp as customer events on your audience list. Trigger Customer Journeys and automations based on real fulfillment activity — dispatch, delivery updates, and order changes.

What gets synced

Events are sent to a specific audience member (matched by email MD5 hash) on your Mailchimp list. Each event includes shipment and order properties you can use as journey conditions and merge tags.

Supported events

  • Shipment Created
  • Shipment Dispatched
  • Shipment Cancelled
  • Order Created / Updated
  • Tracking Updated

  1. Go to Dashboard → Integrations → Mailchimp
  2. Click Connect
  3. Enter your API Key and Audience/List ID
  4. Select events to subscribe to
  5. Save and run a Test

Setup in Mailchimp

  1. Go to Account → Extras → API Keys and create or copy your API key
  2. Go to Audience → Settings → Audience name and defaults to find your Audience ID
  3. In Customer Journeys, create a journey with a trigger based on the event (e.g. "Shipment Dispatched")
  4. Use event properties in your email content

Optional: custom event names

Override the default event name per event if you have existing journeys you want to reuse.

Requirements

  • Customer must exist on the Mailchimp audience (matched by email)
  • API key includes the data center suffix (e.g. -us21) — Zippendo uses this automatically
